We always laughed when we were around Aunt Rose. She’d “tell it like it was,” and we’d not only laugh at her stories, but also at her gutsy remarks about people and life in general. When my sisters and I would visit her at home—and later at Hearthstone—we’d call ourselves her “pretend daughters” since she had so many sons in her life. I think she liked that. And so did we.

Dear Aunt Rose - she was such a firecracker. She and Mom were not only sisters, they were good friends. They would recall their younger days and tell us "not to be as wild as they were." I always got such a kick out of that.
I remember Christmas Eves when her house was so festive and beautiful, and I remember sitting around with her and my sisters, gabbing for hours. She was always so feisty and so much fun. Whenever we got together, we laughed long and hard.
She was the last of the "Green Girls." I will miss her.
