Glenn F. Ober
March 3, 1942 ~ October 10, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years OldGlenn F. Ober, 75, passed away at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, Illinois on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
He was born March 3, 1942 to Glenn H. and Bessie (Freeman) Ober in Woodstock, Illinois. On July 4, 1973, he married Barbara J. Radcliffe in Elgin, Illinois.
A graduate of Woodstock Schools Glenn went on to receive a degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. In 1963 Glenn was drafted into service by the United States Army during the conflict in Vietnam where he served one tour as Crew Chief on board a CH47 Chinook Helicopter. He worked as a corporate pilot for 3 major Chicago based corporations for 38 years. He enjoyed tree farming, bee keeping and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Barbara: his two children, Linda C. (Scott) Schweiger of Newark, Ohio, and Paul J. Ober of Missoula, Montana; two grandchildren, Andrew and Jeremy; as well as an aunt, Genevieve (Ober) Hay.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Ober.
A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Inurnment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Harvard at a later date.
