William H. Peterson Jr.

William H. Peterson Jr., age 80, of Woodstock, passed away February 27, 2022.

He was born in Elgin on January 21, 1942, the son of William H. and Marie (Schmitt) Peterson Sr. He married Georgia L. Zarnstorff on July 27, 1963.

William enjoyed NASCAR and watching his grandson race. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

William is survived by his loving wife, Georgia; sons, Bryan Scott Peterson and Todd Alan Peterson; grandchildren, Amber (Mark) Carroll, Justine (Josh) Price, Chelsey (Keiber) Ojeda, Haley (Gauge) Creel and Tyler Peterson; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Kyla, Jason, Drake, Kaylee, Blake, Adrian and a baby Creel on the way; sisters, Lois Grasser, Judith Thomas and sister-in-law, Judith Peterson.

He was preceded by his parents, parents-in-law George and Margaret Zarnstorff; brothers, Richard (Barbara) Peterson, Donald Peterson, Thomas Peterson, David Peterson; sisters, Jean Morrison, Irene (Otto) Wille, Doris (Bob) Pleva, Della (Ron) Hackler and Patricia Briarton; brother-in-law, Warren Thomas; daughter-in-law, Malinda Peterson and brother-in-law Joe Grasser.

Memorial visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock, IL 60098. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church 312 Lincoln Ave Woodstock, IL 60098. Burial will be private.
