Wallace (Wally) S. Linklater Jr., 81 of Woodstock, passed away peacefully with his two children by his side on Friday, March 4th, 2022, at the Ada F. Addington Hospice Care Center at Rush University Medical Center.
He was born November 18, 1940 in Chicago, IL., to Wallace S. Linklater Sr. and Rose M. (Nastasi) Linklater. He met the love of his life, Deborah (Sorensen) Linklater, and they were married on May, 2nd 1987 in Woodstock.
For 20 years, Wally worked as a custodian for High School District 155 at Crystal Lake Central and Cary Grove. His favorite part of life was the time spent with his wife Deborah raising their children Brian and Angela here in Woodstock. He was a car enthusiast, built his home with his bare hands alongside his family, and loved spending time with his children, family and dogs.
He is survived by his two children, Brian and Angela Linklater; his sister, Lucille M. McCauley of Woodstock, IL. His mother-in-law, Erla J. (Zernechel) Sorensen of Franklin, WI; two sister-in-laws, Cindee (Kim) Sheldon and Kimberly Johnson; brother-in-law James Sorensen; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah K. (Sorensen) Linklater; mother, Rose (Nastasi) Mauricaux; father, Wallace S. Linklater Sr.; brother, Raymond C. Linklater.; brother-in-law Martin E. McCauley; nephews, Tony M. McCauley and Joe T. McCauley.
The visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The visitation will continue Friday, March 11, from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.
