Vicki F. Shafer

Vicki F. Shafer, 80, of Woodstock passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in Chicago surrounded by family.

She was born in Chicago on June 15, 1941 to Vernon and Rogene Waihman.

She retired from Northwood Junior High School in 2013. She enjoyed camping at Crys­tal Falls in MI, bowling, cooking and playing cards. She most loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her Husband, Michael of 62 years and her five sons, Russ (Luann Gran) Shafer, Ken (Donna) Shafer, Jim (Brenda) Shafer, Phil (Chris­tine) Shafer, Matt (Asa) Shafer. Two sisters, Lynn (Dave) Blumhurst, Karen (Rick) Duel. Also, thirteen grand­children and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Glen Waihman, Vernon “Bud” Waihman and her sister Sharon Angel.

The visitation and funeral service will be Monday, November 22, 2021 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 12 noon at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N Seminary Ave in Woodstock. Graveside service will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park 11301 US 14 Frontage Rd in Woodstock. The family invites you to a luncheon being held at the Woodstock Moose located at 406 Clay Street in Wood­stock from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
