Sigrid Anna Eidok Obituary

Sigrid Anna Eidok, 62, of Woodstock, Il, passed into the loving arms of her Savior on January 18, 2022, at Kishwaukee Hospital, Sycamore IL, with her husband and son at her bedside, comforting and assuring her how much she was loved and appreciated.

Sigrid was born to Roderick and Emma Peterson on October 5, 1959, in Harvard, IL, and grew up on the family dairy farm on Coon Trail Road west of Harvard. She graduated from Harvard High school in 1977 and from Gateway Technical College in 1984. On November 5, 1983, she met Victor Eidok on a blind date, and that was the beginning of a lifelong love story of 38 years.

After a second date two weeks later, there was no looking back. Three months later, they were engaged and united in marriage on June 16, 1984, at the Harvard Sportsman Club.

Sigrid and Victor started their life together in Woodstock at a small house on Kimball Ave. In 2002 they designed and built a new family home on the north side of Woodstock. Sigrid was an active partner in the family construction company Esto Builders for many years. She was involved in the Heartland home school network, teaching and mentoring many young people on their way to well-grounded, successful lives. Their son Hans was born in 1990, and Sigrid dedicated herself to nurturing Hans and preparing him for life with Christian education and a safe, secure home life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and a lasting friend to many. Her faith and sweet, caring nature were a continuing blessing to her husband and son.

Sigrid is survived by husband Victor, son Hans, sisters Brenda (Jeff) Klein and Sylvia (Darrell) DeRemer, nephew Roderick (Rachel) Klein, nieces Casey DeRemer and Rebecca (Zach) Reinke (daughter Bethany), and sister in law Helga (Kurt) Peipenbrock. Sigrid's mother, Emma Peterson, passed away on January 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Roderick Peterson.

Visitation will be at the Arising Church at 10:00 am Saturday, February 19, 2022. 211 N Virginia St, Crystal Lake IL 60014, and a Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Neil Lindwall at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery, W 8830 Cemetery Rd Sharon WI.

Our Family would like to express our gratitude to many. To Hans' wonderful church family at the Arising, to our neighbors Juan & and Ana Ortiz, and to so many others who have been there in our time of great sorrow; and to the compassionate ICU medical team at Kishwaukee Hospital; to nurse Julie, thank you for being there for us. May God bless you one and all.

Our precious Sigrid – your caring and giving spirit has brought much joy and comfort to so many around you. Your life had meaning and purpose- piles of gold or silver will never measure your legacy; instead, it will carry forward in the hearts of those who came to know the goodness in you and were blessed by it.

                                                    Love forever - Victor
