Sally J. Wilyat, (nee Meyers) 76, of Woodstock passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at JourneyCare in Barrington.
She was born July 8, 1945 in Harvard, the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Meyers. She married Domenic Wilyat in September of 1973 in Lake Zurich.
Sally worked for American Can in Barrington for 22 years. She went to night school for several years and earned a Bachelors Degree from Roosevelt University in Human Resources. This led to her becoming Supervisor of Human Resources at American Can Barrington location.
Sally is survived by her husband, Domenic Wilyat; granddaughter, Jasmine; grandson, Michael; step children, Kim, John and Thomas (Trina), and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and a son, Michael.
Sally was an avid reader, enjoyed playing games on her tablet, and the annual trip to Las Vegas, and the occasional trip to Potawatomi casino in Milwaukee.
Sally was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Woodstock.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Schneider Leucht Merwin Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Avenue Woodstock from 10:00 am until the 1:00 pm Funeral Service.
Interment services for the family will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Woodstock Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
