Robert Pierce Obituary

Robert Pierce, 89, of Rhinelander, formerly of Phillips, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. Bob was born on February 8, 1934, to James and Francis (Wolk) Pierce, in Woodstock, Il.

After Bob graduated from high school, he joined the United States Army and was sent to serve in the Korea War. When he returned to the states, he went to technical college and made a career out of tool and die manufacturing. Bob married Jan Boho on September 6, 1997.

He loved camping with his family and trying his luck at the casino. He was a sports fanatic and especially loved to support his grandchildren in their endeavors as their number 1 fan. Bob was dedicated to the Clarke University Pride basketball team, to show support for his granddaughter and her teammates. He was a wonderful grandfather and was very proud of all of their achievements. His competitive nature never diminished - the older he got, the more competitive he was. Playing cribbage, shaking dice, and watching professional sports, Bob liked anything he could make entertaining and showcase his sense of humor. He was very quick witted and would keep you on your toes. Braxton was his little buddy and Bob cherished their time together.

Bob is survived by wife of 26 years, Jan; children, Tracey (Scott) Ubl, Richard "Dicky" Franek, and Tammy (Wes Kornuth) Spacek; grandchildren, Coleman and Athena "Tina" Ubl, Daniel and Cole (Ashley) Spacek; great-grandchildren, Braxton Spacek; sister-in-law, Pat Pierce; nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; his son, Trevor; and a niece, Denise.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street, Phillips, WI, 54555. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Phillips. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
