Rex Litchfield Obituary

Rex A. Litchfield, 76, of Woodstock passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Evanston on April 29, 1945, to Rex and Margaret (Smith) Litchfield. He married Loree Freeman on December 12, 1981, in Woodstock.

Rex proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He worked as a floor installer and spent 17 years as a volunteer firefighter for Woodstock Rural Fire Department before enjoying retirement. 

He had passion and an amazing talent as a woodworker. He was an active member of Woodstock Woodworkers Club, and served a term as their president. Rex loved to spend time with his friends and family, whether it be traveling or camping. He especially loved the time spent in Cabo and Hawaii. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his annual guys trip to Canada and Alaska. He also enjoyed a good poker game with his friends. Rex loved, was loved, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Loree Litchfield; a son, Steve (Bridgett) Kaiser; three daughters, Jen (Bubba) Aellig, Sarah (Gordon) Severson, and Bethany Litchfield; four grandchildren, Taylor (Steven) Kovacs, Jake Aellig, Joey Kaiser and Zach Kaiser; a great granddaughter, Audrey Kovacs; brother, Dick (Joyce) Litchfield; two sisters, Debbie (Alan) Choutka and Linda (Jon) Fenlaciki; also, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
