Patricia C. Myrda, 85, of Chicago, Illinois, peacefully departed from this earthly realm on January 5, 2024. Born on April 7, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, Patricia, daughter of Jeanne and Richard Hayes, was called home to reunite with her beloved husband, Donald, and her brother, Clyde, who preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Sandy, Jan and brother, Kyle, step sister, Fran along with her children, David, Penniann, Paula, and Denyse. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Mark, Gene, Diane, Kenny (deceased), and Donna, as well as 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

 Patricia, fondly known as Grandma Pat, exemplified a life of faith, humility, and gratitude. Her unwavering strength, independence, and devotion to her family were a testament to her character. She approached each day with grace and humility, recognizing the beauty and interconnectedness of all of creation.

 Her adventurous spirit marked Grandma Pat's journey in life and her love for exploring the world's wonders. She embarked on countless road trips across the United States and Canada, marveling at the vastness and diversity of God's creation. Alongside her late husband, she created cherished memories during their camping escapades. Patricia's unwavering commitment to being present for every milestone and celebration in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was a testament to her deep love and profound impact on their lives.

 Patricia's life was a tapestry of talents and passions. She found solace and joy in her hobbies, which included music, golfing, crafting, quilting, painting, and sewing. Her creative endeavors showcased her reverence for the beauty that can be found in the simplest of things. Additionally, she dedicated her time and talents to sewing gowns for preemie babies, demonstrating her compassionate heart and commitment to serving others.

In her professional life, Patricia served as an Executive Secretary for Zenyth Corporation and First American Bank. Her dedication, professionalism, and unwavering integrity left an indelible mark on those she worked with, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Patricia's faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength, hope, and a deep sense of purpose. She was a devoted member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Chicago, where she found solace, community, and guidance in her spiritual journey.

 

A sacred space has been prepared to honor Patricia's life and celebrate her journey to eternal peace. Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance and prayer on Friday, January 12, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Schneider - Leucht - Merwin & Cooney Funeral Directors, located at 1211 N. Seminary Avenue in Woodstock, Illinois. Celebration of Life starting at 12:00 PM which will be livestreamed by clicking on this link or the link below.
