Michael Francis Engelhardt, 74, of Woodstock, passed away on June 23, 2021, at his home in Woodstock in the loving arms of his wife, Kay.
He was born in Vöcklabruck, Austria, on June 27, 1946, to Sebastian and Barbara (Kaiser) Engelhardt. He married Karen Kay Grant on December 4, 1971.
Mike (or Spike, to friends and relatives) was fun-loving, had an easy going spirit, and a great sense of humor. He loved bowling, golf, fishing, horseshoes, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, music (especially oldies rock), and all of the Chicago sports teams. He provided well for his beloved family during his life-long career as a Plastic Molding Engineer at Filtertek (Hebron, IL).
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay; brother Richard; children Michael (Megan), Thomas (Mary), and Andrew (Roxanne); close friend Gavon Stroud; grandchildren AJ, Myhre, Ashton, Leo, and Lucie; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph; sister-in-law, Willa; sisters, Elizabeth and Magdalena; and brother-in-law, Charles.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin, and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave in Woodstock from 3:00 - 7:00 pm followed by an informal gathering at the Engelhardt residence.
