Michael S. Collins

Michael S. Collins, age 58, passed away at his home in Wonder Lake. 

He was born on September 7, 1962 in Elgin, the son of Richard and Katherine (Madsen) Collins.

Michael grew up in Woodstock, IL. Moved to many different places over the years such as Virginia Beach, VA & Islamorada, Fl. 

Michael was an amazing musician who loved singing, playing the guitar and drumming. He was in many bands including The Lounge Lizards and Dalton-Collins.  He owned and operated the Lizard Lounge for 17 years in Wonder Lake. His smile and laugh lit up the room. He enjoyed traveling to Florida with his daughter, from Cocoa Beach to the Florida Keys. Having his toes in the sand and the sun on his skin. He was an amazing father, grandfather, cousin and friend to many. 

He will be missed dearly. 

He is survived by his daughter, Alexandra Collins; grandchildren, Marley Collins, Johnny Bauldwin, Kristina Cruz, Ashlyn Cruz and Randy Michael Collins-Connor; and a sister Susan (Steve) Symmonds, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Donald Madsen.

No public visitation at this time. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
