Mary Ann T. Sullivan, loving Mother, Aunt to many, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend, passed away on March 11, 2022 at Hearthstone Village in Woodstock, Illinois. She was 86.
She was born on November 9, 1935 in Chicago to John and Florence (Janusheske) Dressen. She married Michael Joseph Sullivan in 1956.
Mary Ann moved to Woodstock from Chicago over 30 years ago. She belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woodstock and worked at Hoyne Savings Bank for many years. Arts, crafts, ceramics, painting and sewing were her passions. She loved making Christmas tree skirts and giving them to her friends. She made many new dear friends in Woodstock including her neighbors the Webber’s, Sean and Lisa Sullivan and their children Elisabeth and Josh who were very fond of Mary Ann. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Diane Latz) Sullivan, Michael (Bilian) Sullivan, Brian (Kristi) Sullivan, Kevin (Michelle) Sullivan and Kathleen Sullivan; grandchildren, Brianna (Matthew) Campbell, Baylee, Payton, Sean, Timothy and Anna Claire; great-grandchildren, Erin and Christopher Campbell, her close cousin Jean and her late husband Jerry Mattakat and her best friends for over fifty years Linda Macchitelli and Giesela Popova both from Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Michael, her brother John, her granddaughter Tess Marie and her dear companion the late Dick Thomas of Woodstock.
We are deeply grateful for the loving care that our mother received from Yulia, Lesia and Lidiia. These three ladies were Mary Ann's angels here on earth. We are appreciative to the entire staff at Hearthstone Village for their dedicated care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
A private service and interment at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery will be held at a later date.
