On July 10, 2021, MaryAnn Patricia Rychlewski passed away peacefully at the age of 89 of natural causes. MaryAnn was born on March 13, 1932 in Chicago, IL as the only child to Elizabeth and John Berjer Jr. On April 24, 1956 she married Eugene Rychlewski and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They were residents of Franklin Park, IL where they raised their family of four children, later relocated to Sun City Center, FL during their golden retirement years playing many rounds of golf and finally resided back near family in Woodstock, IL.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Rychlewski, her mother, Elizabeth Berjer and her father, John Berjer Jr. She is survived by her beloved four children; Jeanne Schierhorn (husband Robert), Patricia Leopold (husband Michael), Janice Hoss (husband Jeffrey) and William Rychlewski (wife Tina); her seven grandchildren; James Schierhorn, Jeffrey Rychlewski (wife Laura), Jonathan Hoss (wife Chelsey), Stephen Leopold (wife Ellie), Matthew Hoss, Christopher Schierhorn (wife Brooke), Kimberly Roland (husband Grant) and her first great grandchild, Blaire Schierhorn (daughter of Christopher and Brooke Schierhorn).
MaryAnn attended Alvernia High School, an all-girl’s Catholic school. She took employment with Visi Flash Illinois, Franklin Park, IL and later Sysco Foods, Des Plaines, IL. In the early years while raising a family, she became the President of the Women’s Club at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church/School, Schiller Park, IL, enjoyed boating across the state of Wisconsin, watching her children and grandchildren, when possible, in extra-curricular and sports activities, spending time with her family on holidays and opportunities teaching her grandchildren how to play board and other games like ‘Sequence” and “Mexican Train.” MaryAnn and her husband, Eugene, spent their days together; they were never apart. Together they also enjoyed traveling and attending many shows at the local movie theatre. She has been a great mentor and role model in every way and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Avenue (Route 47), Woodstock, IL. Inurnment will take place on Friday at 10:00 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in River Grove.
