Mary F. Taylor, 98, of Woodstock, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2021. Mary was the loving wife of George B. Taylor, daughter of Mae and Richard Farrell, sister of James Farrell. Mary was the blessed and devoted mother of seven children: Robert (Mary Rita) Taylor, Dennis (Terry) Taylor, Patricia (Thomas) Micek, Mary Jo (Brett) Willits, Colleen (Gary, deceased) Huntley, Georgia (Scott) Stevens, and John ( Michelle) Taylor. She was the loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Mary graduated from St. Mary’s High School, worked as a switchboard operator at Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and later worked as a bookkeeper for the Woodstock State Bank where life-long friends and co-workers loved her sense of humor and were the target of her shenanigans.
Mary loved to travel with family going to Florida, Wisconsin, Texas, South Dakota, the British Isles and Mexico. She loved spending time with her family, especially holiday gatherings with a house full of kids and grandkids. St. Patrick’s Day was her favorite holiday celebrating her Irish heritage.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, and son-in-law.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock, IL 60098. The Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave, Woodstock, IL, followed by internment at the Calvary Cemetery in Woodstock.

Mary religiously read the newspaper every morning to see if she was listed in the obituaries. Sorry Mom.
