Mary M. Freund

Mary Margaret Freund, 97, of Woodstock, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Sunrise of Crystal Lake.

She was born April 9, 1925 in Grant Park, IL to Floyd A. and Della L. (Rippe) Huebsch.  She married William A. “Bill” Freund on January 31, 1948 in Woodstock.

Mary was a homemaker and raised her three children with a firm but loving hand.  She had worked during wartime at the Woodstock AutoLite; and later at Guardian Electric in the 1970’s.  Her love of flowers and gardening were clearly visible in her backyard on Desmond Drive, her and Bill’s home in Woodstock.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Deb Lundmark) Freund of Woodstock, Robert Freund of Woodstock, Susanne (John) DePaul of Itasca; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, William Huebsch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Katrina Freund; brothers, Richard Huebsch, Robert Huebsch; a sister, Dorothy Holliday; and two infant siblings.

A Gathering of Friends and relatives will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Schneider Leucht Merwin Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock from 10:00 am until the 11:30 am Funeral Service.  Interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.
