Marilynn L. Flaxman
Obituary
Marilynn L. Flaxman, age 95, of Johnsburg, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022. Marilynn was born on September 23, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois. She went on to study fashion design and became a dress designer and later was an artist. Much of her work hangs in the homes of family members. She met and married the love of her life, Edward I. Flaxman age 96, in 1947. Marilynn and Edward went on to be the proud parents of three children, David (Kathy) Flaxman, Joan (David) Anderson and Andrew (Jennifer) Flaxman. After they retired, they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona but then moved to Johnsburg in 2015 to be nearer to family.
Marilynn with her husband Edward had five grandchildren, Robert (Alma) Flaxman, Marian (Lucas) Ashby, Alexander Anderson, Paige Flaxman, and Erin Flaxman. They had three great grandchildren, Aurora Bosco, Edith Ashby and Frieda Ashby. They also had several nieces and nephews.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Robert Friedman, her sister Phyllis (Bill) Rothmann, brother Laurence (Janice) Friedman and sister-in-law Dorothy Shore.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at McHenry County Jewish Cemetery (Oakland Cemetery), Jackson Street, Woodstock, IL at 2:00 p.m.
Marilynn loved her grand-dogs Rylee, Zelda, and Sagan. In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of Marilynn Flaxman to L.E.A.R.N. (Labrador Education and Rescue Network). 140 Simmons Ave., Box 323, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
