Marilyn M. (Miller) Benoy

Marilyn M. Benoy, 96, of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in McHenry, IL.

Marilyn was born March 17, 1926 in Ringwood, IL to Peter and Frances (Stilling) Miller. She grew up in Ringwood, IL and worked her talents at a sewing machine factory. She met her husband, Raymond Benoy, after World War II, and they married on June 30, 1948 in Johnsburg, IL. Marilyn and Ray lived in Woodstock and were active members of St. Mary's parish and the community. Marilyn was always a friendly face to see around town.

Marilyn was the matriarch of the Benoy family and loved getting the family together for holidays and special occasions. She frequently gathered with her siblings and their spouses to play cards. Her passions were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her home, and her summertime flowerbeds. Her grandchildren could often be found with her baking chocolate chip cookies or fishing in the backyard pond. On nice days, you could always find Marilyn outside working on her plants, trimming her flowers, and pulling weeds. She enjoyed helping others and spent her free time volunteering at the Woodstock Hospital. Marilyn always had a way to make people feel special.

She is survived by her three sons, Dale Benoy, Tim (Kay) Benoy and Rick (Maureen) Benoy; seven grandchildren, Brian (Mindy) Drexler, Eric Dexler, Natalie (Luigi) Decurtis, Stephany (Andy) Kunzweiler, Steven Benoy, Matthew Benoy and Kristi (Michael) Gomella; six great-grandchildren, Jack, Ainsley, and Brady Drexler and Hadley, Charlie, and Elliot

Kunzweiler. She is also survived by her siblings, Betty Smith of McHenry, Walter (Barbara) Miller of Ringwood, and Jack (Irene) Miller of Watertown,WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray in Sept. of 2010; her daughter, Karen Drexler in December of 2006; sisters, Luella May, Delores May, Jeanette Raemaker and brothers, Alvin, Gerald, Roman and Donald Miller.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Avenue, Woodstock from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.
