Luz "Malu" Salazar Obituary

Luz “Malu” Salazar 100, of Harvard passed away Monday February 13, 2023 at her home under the care of her granddaughter Rosa Gonzalez and two daughters Oralia Garcia and Graciela Gonzalez.

She was born in Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, San Luis Potosí Mexico on June 1, 1922 to Rosalio and Paula Pina. She was married to her late husband Augustine Salazar.

She was loved by all of her large family and will be missed.                       

She is survived by two sons Augustine and Arturo Salazar. Three daughters Rosa (Manuel) Arroyo, Oralia Garcia, Graciela (Jose) Gonzalez, 29 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter Ana; a son Armando; two grandchildren Jose “Pepe” and Michael; and also, her eight siblings.

Visitation will be Thursday February 16, 2023 from 4 till 8 pm at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock. The funeral mass will be Friday February 17, 2023 with a visitation at the church starting at 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church 312 Lincoln Ave. Woodstock. Per the family’s wishes burial will be private.
