Lois L. (Beierwaltes) Kalvelage passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023 with her loved ones by her side. She was born in Chicago on October 27, 1926 the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Bachrodt) Beierwaltes. She married Alban C. Kalvelage on May 30, 1948.
Before she married, she acted and sang for a small stage group in Chicago. She loved to sing and did so up to her last days. You could count on her to remember the lyrics to all the “old songs” and get family and friends to join her in singing! Lois often remarked how important motherhood was to her. She took great pride in raising her four children and seeing them become responsible, accomplished adults: James (Vicki) Kalvelage, the late Steven (Alison) Kalvelage, Karen (William) Riesbeck and Kathy (the late Mitchell) Alvins. She never missed an event or important occasion in her children’s or grandchildren’s lives. Lois worked as a teacher’s aide for Woodstock High School for twelve years and enjoyed quite a bit of traveling with her husband after they retired.
She is survived by her brother, Father Charles Beierwaltes, three of her four children; James, Karen and Kathy, her five grandchildren; Jamie, Jeff, Richard, Kevin and Emily, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alban, son Steven, son-in-law Mitch, and her siblings; Robert (Joan) Beierwaltes, Sr. Marie Celine Beierwaltes, Geraldine (Norman) Weidner, Marilyn (Stanley) Bush, and Andrew (Barbara) Beierwaltes.
