Kim Gordon Kowalewsky, 65, of Woodstock passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
He was born in Rogers City, Michigan on April 4, 1955 to Malcolm and Audrey (Kuhlman) Kowalewsky. He married Angela Weinrich on June 21, 1981 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their son Andrew, adopted November 17, 1989, was his pride and joy.
Kim was an active member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake. He was a strong Christian and an active leader in the church. Hobbies included target shooting, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed yard work and reading. A treasured pastime was playing catch with his son. He will be remembered as a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; a son, Andrew (Rebecca); a brother, Karl (Vicky). He was cherished by his extended family, Sharon (Mark John), Janice (Wayne), Jeanine (Charles), Mark (Judy), and Tim (Cheryl). He will always be remembered as Uncle Tiny by his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Billy.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am. (Due to COVID-19, space is limited.)
Interment services will be private.
