Harold W. Cairns, 79, formerly of Woodstock, IL passed away on April 3, 2024 at the Waters of Oak Creek Senior Community in Oak Creek, WI.
He was born in Richmond, IL to John and Wendella (Dammein) Cairns. He married the love of his life, Martha Nicholls on November 3, 1979.
He was a car enthusiast that loved muscle cars and anything that had a good “roar” off the line. He was a man that could fix anything and was a natural problem solver. Harold had a mind for math and was good at building things, like his brothers. He loved playing various card games and board games like Monopoly, especially with his family. He worked in many fields including being the Screen Media Manager at Filtertek, and a business owner with his brother when they started Cairns Carpentry.
He is survived by two sons, Michael (Melissa) Cairns and Brian (Karalyn) Cairns; daughter, Teresa (Randy) Meekins; two grandchildren, Brady Cairns and Delaney Cairns; and a brother, Marvin (Nancy) Cairns.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings Henry (Pat) Cairns, John (Marilyn) Cairns Jr., Betty (Elmer) Bottlemy, and Martha (Bob) Betts.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on April 20, 2024 at the Schneider Leucht Merwin Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock from 9:00 am until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock.
