Eugene Rychlewski Obituary

EUGENE WALTER RYCHLEWSKI

On July 1, 2021, Eugene Walter Rychlewski passed away peacefully at the age of 93 of natural causes.  Eugene was born on April 1, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Marie Rychlewski.  On April 24, 1956 he married MaryAnn Berjer and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.  They were residents of Franklin Park, IL where they raised their family of four children, later relocated to Sun City Center, FL during their golden retirement years playing many rounds of golf and finally resided back near family in Woodstock, IL.

Eugene was preceded in death by his mother, Marie and his father, Walter.  He is survived by his beloved wife, MaryAnn and his four children; Jeanne Schierhorn (husband Robert), Patricia Leopold (husband Michael), Janice Hoss (husband Jeffrey) and William Rychlewski (wife Tina); his seven grandchildren, James Schierhorn, Jeffrey Rychlewski (wife Laura), Jonathan Hoss (wife Chelsey), Stephen Leopold (wife Ellie), Matthew Hoss, Christopher Schierhorn (wife Brooke), Kimberly Roland (husband Grant) and his first great grandchild, Blaire Schierhorn (daughter of Christopher and Brooke Schierhorn); Eugene’s younger brothers, Chester Rychlewski (wife Nora) and Theodore Rychlewski (wife Eileen).

After proudly serving in the United States Armed Forces during the Post-World War II Occupation Force in Germany from October 1950 to October 1952, he took employment for 23 years with ILG/Carrier Industries and later for 12 years with Kellogg Company.  In the early years while raising a family he enjoyed boating and fishing all over the state of Wisconsin, watching his children and grandchildren when possible in extra-curricular and sports activities, spending time with his family on holidays and opportunities teaching his grandchildren how to play board and other games like ‘Sequence.’  While at home he loved watching his favorite sports teams:  Chicago Bears, White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks.  He has been a great mentor and role model in every way and will be deeply missed.
