Elzora Nancy Kottke, 97, formerly of Woodstock, passed away on November 22, 2022 at the Heritage Health Center in Elgin.
She was born on June 25, 1925 in Walworth Wisconsin, the daughter of Samual and Grace (Wincapaw) Gregory. She married Elgart R. Kottke on June 28, 1947 in Harvard.
Elzora she attended Mickle School in Walworth, Wicham School in Alden and graduated from the Alden High School. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodstock where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She worked at the Starline in Harvard for 50 years and was a volunteer at the Woodstock Food Pantry. She also worked at Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock for 20 years. She loved to go camping and fishing with her grandchildren. She loved her flowers, gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Douglas (Trudy) Kottke, Dale (Marianne) Kottke, Melody (Dave) Gieseke; grandchildren, Bradley (Becky) Kottke, Eric (Alexis) Kottke, Kelli (Connor) Zwick, Katie (Dan) Reineke, Tim (Becky) Gieseke, Randy (Jamie) Gieseke, Brittany (Eric) Weber; great grandchildren, Reagan Kottke, Michael Conniff, Christopher Conniff, Grace Reineke, Jackson Gieseke, Clayton Gieseke, Jacob Gieseke, Caleb Gieseke, Kyle Gieseke, Zachary Weber, Travis Weber and many nieces and nephews recognized for their caring and sharing time with her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Lelia Knopp; brothers, Laverne, Delbert and Lyle Gregory.
A visitation will be held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church 401 St. John’s Road, Woodstock on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 9:30 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service.
Interment will be in the Alden Cemetery in Alden, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodstock.
