Dorothy Thomas Obituary

Dorothy Thomas, 95, of Woodstock, IL passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy was born in Woodstock on February 7, 1925 to Martin and Lillian (Nelson) Jensen. She attended grade school in Greenwood and graduated in 1943 from Woodstock High School.

Dorothy worked at Guardian Electric and the Woodstock Sears catalog order store. She and her husband were long time members of the Woodstock CAATS antique car club. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and bingo.

Dorothy is survived by her three children, Sandra Freels of Woodstock; Peggy (Gordon) Koehler of Raleigh, NC; Kenneth (Peggy) Thomas of Woodstock; seven grandchildren, Annette and Mark Freels; Jeff and Chris Koehler; Rebecca Goers, Brian and Andrew Thomas; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, Aleigha Koehler; Mileigh Welp; Lillian Thornquist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister and one infant great-grandson William Pierce.

There will be a private family service at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
