Donna Bangiorno Obituary

Donna Lee Bangiorno, age 79, of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 18th, 1944, in Chicago, to Thomas and Elizabeth (Heuschmidt) Vaughn. She married Charlie G. Hitchcock, on January 20th, 1962. They had three children together, and although they both went on to remarry, Donna and Charlie remained in touch throughout their lives. She married James H. Bangiorno Sr., on October 8, 1994. James passed away on August 4th, 2014. She shared the last 5 years of her life with Paul Fleming.

Donna enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She was a lover of all animals and enjoyed feeding every critter who called her yard home, even the raccoons. Donna loved her family more then anything and her favorite days were days she was surrounded by them. During her last few days, she often commented how wonderful her life was and how happy she was to have experienced so much love during it.

She is survived by her three children from her first marriage, Charlie (Diane Susong) Hitchcock, Kelly (Rol) Hunt, and Scott (Jenny) Hitchcock. She is survived by two children from her second marriage; Cari Ann (Ron) Quarrie, and  Jim H. (Marcie) Bangiorno Jr.; her grandchildren, Alley (Tyler) Jones, Michael (Wendy) Susong,  Matthew (Kirstyn) Ketchum, Bobbi Kalleck, Toni Boley, Samantha Kalleck, Nicole Kalleck, Nicholas Bangiorno, Riley Bangiorno, Damian Bangiorno, Alexandra Bangiorno, Jessica Bangiorno, Kelly Milligan, James Rust, Scott M. Hitchcock and Samantha Hitchcock; along with numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband Jim Bangiorno; sons, Carl and Scott Bangiorno; a daughter Lisa Marie Ketchum; a grandson, Ryan Ketchum; and a granddaughter, Angie Phillips.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave Woodstock, IL 60098.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Young at Heart Senior Pet Adoptions, 4301 IL-47, Woodstock, IL 60098 where Donna adopted her cat Adrian.
