Donald "Skip" Johnson Jr., 66, of Woodstock passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Crystal Pine Rehabilitation Center in Crystal Lake.
He was born in Woodstock on January 4, 1955 to Donald and Ilene (Ehrke) Johnson.
He was employed at Union Special in Huntley from 1976 until 2003. He then went to work for McHenry County in the Assessor's office where he worked until his retirement in 2018. He graduated from Woodstock Community High School the class of 1973. He loved to garden, cook and play with his puppy Sydney. He was a fan of the Packers and White Sox. He was also a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge.
He is survived by a brother Randy Johnson; three sisters Barbara (James) Walsh, Donna (Thomas) Rhodes, Kathy (Edward) Peters. Nine nieces and nephews Stacey, Mike, Tommy, Colleen, Kathleen, Carrie, Laurie, Jay and Ross. Also, many great and great-great nieces and nephews,
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The visitation and funeral service will be Saturday November 20, 2021 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 12 noon at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. in Woodstock.
Interment will be private.
