Diane M. (Menzel) Schreiber

Diane M. Schreiber, 63, of Woodstock, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her home.

She was born August 17, 1954 in Woodstock to Richard and Margaret “Peggy” (Hallisy) Menzel.  She married Leroy L. Schreiber on September 27, 1975 at St. Patrick’s Church in Hartland.

Diane was a life long member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock; and a graduate of Marian Central High School.  She had been employed for many years at Buschkopf Pharmacy in Woodstock and most recently with American Ad Bag.  Diane was a very talented seamstress, having made wedding gowns and dresses for dozens of weddings, as well as creating costumes for such events as the Renaissance Fair.  She dearly loved her family, and treasured the family vacations.  She will be remembered for how she shared her heart with all her family and dear friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Joshua) Rowe of Forest Park; her parents, Dick and Peg Menzel of Hartland; a brother, Terry (Pat) Menzel of Woodstock; sister, Donna Menzel O’Brien of St. Paul; nieces and nephews, Shannon O’Brien, Patrick O’Brien, Mark (April) Menzel, Katie Menzel, Kelly (Mike) Brinkman; several great nieces and nephews; and many dear cousins, and loving friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her husband, Leroy L. Schreiber on March 14, 2014.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a prayer service at 6:00 pm at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Avenue Woodstock.  The visitation will continue on Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church 312 Lincoln Avenue Woodstock from 10:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.  Interment services will be private in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heifer International; the Woodstock Food Pantry; or Home of the Sparrow.
