Deanna K. Bohn, 76, of Woodstock, passed away December 9, 2021, at the home of her son, Leon Bohn, in Cedar Rapids, IA.
She was born February 20, 1945, in Woodstock to Leon C. Rahn and Laurabelle (Strauss) Rahn. She married her husband of 47 years, Larry R. Bohn on February 17, 1968.
Deanna was a 1963 graduate of Woodstock High School. A lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Deanna served early on as a Sunday school teacher and later actively assisted with communion.
She, with husband Larry, were part-owners of Bohn's on the Square, and Bohn's Ace Hardware from 1968 to 2018.
Deanna, lover of colorful outfits and all things “glitzy”, thoroughly loved her hometown of Woodstock where she spent the entirety of her life. She enjoyed working at the store - especially dressing the windows and Christmas trees for the holidays - and also spending family time at their cottage on the lake. And when she had the opportunity, she loved to dance.
She is survived by her two sons, Leon (Jennifer) Bohn, Seth (Caitlin) Bohn; grandchildren, Tristan Bohn, Melia Bohn, Jonnie-Rose Bohn, and Otis Bohn; a brother, Paul (Jo Marie) Rahn, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant son, and beloved Scotties, Abby and Emma.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am. Rev. Amanda Bergstrom will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock.
Memorials may be made in her name to Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, IL 60098.
