Chuck Browne, 87, of Woodstock, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2021.
He was born October 28, 1934, to Charles and Emma Browne. He married Sharon Kren on November 20, 1971.
Chuck is survived by his two children. Michael (Brigid) Browne of Park Ridge, IL, and Amy Browne of Chicago, IL; his grandsons, Hayden, Patrick, and Brendan Browne; a sister, Joan Holman and a brother-in-law, Bruce Kern.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sharon Browne.
Chuck graduated from St. Mary High School, Woodstock, in 1952, and from Marquette University, Milwaukee, in 1956 with a degree in Journalism. He was employed as Director of Marketing Services for consumer products companies, including Charmglow Gas Barbecue Grills and Samsonite Furniture Co.
Over the years, he and his family lived in Arlington Heights, IL, Evansville. IN, Franklin, WI, Brentwood, TN, Peachtree City, GA, and Woodstock, IL.
He enjoyed having fun with his three grandsons, and his winter vacations with his wife in the desert of southern California. He loved playing golf and hit three holes-in-one at Rancho Casa Blanca Golf Course in Indio, CA.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Avenue in Woodstock on Wednesday December 22, 2021 from 9:30 am until the 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.
