Chester R. Grubba

Chester R. Grubba, 88, of Woodstock passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his home in Woodstock.

He was born July 31, 1929 in Chicago to Nick and Rose (Poterek) Grubba.  He married Dorothy M. Mika on May 4, 1952 in Chicago.  She passed away on March 13, 2015.

Mr. Grubba was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth (Pamela) Grubba; two daughters, Rosemary (Gary) Pope and Joyce Dalton; grandchildren, Brian (Tina), Branden (Heather), Jonathan,  Carrie (Steven), Jason (Kate), Heather (Ray), Jessica (Erik), Ryan, Kelly (Willie III) and Courtney; great grandchildren, Ethan, Malaina, Megan, Madalyn, Macie, Hayden, Jackson, Caroline, Cameron, Brianna, Danny, Xavier, Willie IV, and twins due the end of May; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy M. Grubba; and two sons, Laurence and Paul John Grubba.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave, in Woodstock. The visitation will continue at St. Mary Catholic Church 312 Lincoln Avenue Woodstock on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.
