Brett Ralph Coleman, 67, passed away on December 11, 2020.
He was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on April 15, 1953, to Mary Genevieve (Mullen) Coleman and Ralph Edson Coleman. He operated many successful bars and restaurants in Elgin, Dundee, Chicago, Crystal Lake, Cary and Algonquin, IL. He also built and owned a Holiday Inn Express in Algonquin, IL. Brett was a compassionate and generous man who had an excitement for life which made him a friend to all and mentor to many.
Brett married Ann Elizabeth Brislen on February 19, 1983 in Chicago, IL. They raised their four children, Seth Ralph, Egan Russell, Brady Michael and Mae Elizabeth in Crystal Lake, IL.
Brett is survived by his wife Ann; three sons, Seth of San Clemente, CA., Egan of Algonquin, IL., and Brady (Brittni) of Crystal Lake, IL., his daughter, Mae (Amari) of Crystal Lake, IL., his sisters, Carole (Glen) Lea and Cathie Kelly both of Union City, CA., his brothers, Barry Coleman of Woodstock IL., Kelly (Mary) Coleman of Dundee, IL., and Kevin (Sally) Coleman of Wesley Chapel, FL.; his cousins, Sherri (Don) Ross of Calgary, Canada and Bryan (Molly) Mullen of Evanston, IL.; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Coleman of Carpentersville, IL., Ruth (Jim) Center of Cerrillos, NM., Joan Elms of Carpentersville, IL., Sue (Bruce) Alfrejd of Streamwood, IL. and Jaki (Richard) Parsons of Rockford, IL.
Brett is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Elliana, Nash, Anakin and step-granddaughter Lily all of Crystal Lake, IL., as well as, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Brett was proceeded in death by his parents, Ralph and Genevieve Coleman; a brother, Brian Coleman; cousin, Craig Mullen; nephew, Brian Kelly; brother-in-law, Jim Kelly; father and mother-in-law, John and Loretta Brislen.
Visitation is limited to the immediate family.
Funeral Mass will be Friday December 18, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Milton, Wisconsin.
