Barton N. Lewis Jr. Obituary

Barton N. Lewis Jr, 84, of Woodstock, passed away September 22, 2022 at home.

Bart as he was known by everyone, was born in Minneapolis, MN on October 6, 1937, the son of Barton (Mildred Williams) Lewis Sr. He married Diane Mollencamp on February 10, 1967.

As a child, he jumped off his roof using a dish towel as a parachute. Luckily, he survived. He attended Taft high school in Chicago before enlisting in the navy where he enjoyed jumping out of airplanes using real parachutes. He met his future wife, Diane, while parachuting and married her a few short months later. Bart followed in his father’s footsteps and became a machinist. He started Plasticraft Corp along with his business partner, John Buxton in 1968 and was in business for over 35 years. Bart and Diane raised 4 children. They enjoyed traveling, flying his Cessna, golfing and entertaining friends and family. Bart loved to tell jokes and make people laugh as well as spoiling his grandchildren with ice cream and presents.

Barton is survived by his wife Diane; children, Brian (Domenica) Lewis, Valarie Lewis, Bill Lewis, Susie (David) Hansen; 11 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Gwen Conner.
