Albert A. Froehlich, age 93, of Wonder Lake, passed away August 22, 2021 at his home.
He was born on May 25, 1928 in Wonewoc, Wisconsin, the son of Herman and Martha (Jannisch) Froehlich. He married Barbara Walker on June 17, 1951 in Augusta, Georgia.
Albert enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, where he was awarded 2 Purple Hearts. He worked for Woodstock Die Casting for over 40 years and Tonyan Construction. He also worked for Illinois Bell and Terra Cotta Industries as a security guard. Albert loved the Chicago White Sox and he enjoyed puzzles, bingo and being with his family.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Barbara; children, Al (Sue) Froehlich Jr., Charles (Beverly) Froehlich, Harvey Froehlich, Sandra (Martin) Straley and Wanda (Todd) Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; silblings, Rudy, Linda, Ruth, Olga, Robert and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hilda; brother, Harold and daughter-in-law Helen.
Visitation will be Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Johns Lutheran Church from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Funeral service to be live streamed starting at 11:45am. Click HERE to view the service. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery.
