Woodson (Woody) Garrett Obituary

Woodson A. Garrett (Woody), age 78, of Woodstock, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 surrounded by loving family and friends.

He was born on November 13, 1939, to Finis and Rosa Annie (Alley) Garrett. On October 20, 1963 he married Carol Okrasinski.

Woody loved the outdoors and being on his motorcycle. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and the International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers. He supported his grandkids in all their activities and made it a priority to be at any activity they were involved in.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, daughters Beth (Vik) Burg-Krishnan, Woodstock, IL; Lisle (Nathan) Stalter, Russell, IL; many nieces and nephews, and his grandchildren; Abbi, Jason, Nathan and Rebecca who filled his heart with love and joy.

He was preceded in death by his brother Finis Harold and sister Francis Novelene.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15th, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Woodstock, Il. Visitation will continue Friday, March 16, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 at Grace Fellowship Church, 200 Cairns Court, Woodstock followed by a Celebration Service at 11:00.

Memorials may be made to Rockford Rescue Mission or Grace Fellowship Special Projects.
