Virginia Lilly Allen

Virginia Lilly Allen, 97, of Woodstock, passed away on March 27, 2018 at Centegra Hospital – Huntley.

She was born January 7, 1921 in Chicago to John and Clara (Drewitz) Ewert. She married Hugh H. Allen, who preceded her in death.

Virginia was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Woodstock.  She had been a volunteer with several nursing homes, and hospitals for over 42 years.

She is survived by a son, Charles Allen; a brother, John Ewert; two great grandchildren, Michael and Makyle; and many dear friends, including the Kerschke family and the Schoenberg family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon; a granddaughter, Michelle; and two infant sisters, June and Loraine.

Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church 401 St. John Road, Woodstock from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service.  Private interment service will be in the Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Des Plaines Illinois
