Ryan was and will forever be the best friend I could ever ask for. Always there and willing to give a helping hand whenever needed it. He could take what seemed like the most dark situation and make it something to laugh about just like that. I know that no message to you would be complete without mentioning your hilarious videos or the memes you'd send my way. I hope that one day we'll be able to get together and jam in the car to all the old music we'd listen to as if nothing had ever changed. I hope I can set a good example and carry on the things that you were able to do to make this world just a little bit better and brighter. I love you buddy and I know your family and friends love you more than anything.

With deepest sympathies. Ryan made a difference in our life and was a special young man, bright, funny, talented, always made us laugh. Donovan and Katie still call him their brother. He will surely be missed. Know that he is heaven-probably making the angels laugh! May God bring you peace and comfort now and in the days ahead. I hope it helps to know we care for and love all of you.

A GRANDMA'S GARDEN TABLE BASKET was sent on September 7, 2017

I am good friends with Sam. We both came from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and ended up in Milwaukee. Although I have never met Ryan, I have heard so many wonderful stories that I feel as if I do know him. He had a wonderful soul and has such a beautiful family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

A RAY OF SUNSHINE was ordered on September 7, 2017

Message from Richard Carr
September 7, 2017 9:20 AM

It is in tragic times like these that we realize how fragile and precious life is. As I lie awake thinking of my nephew Ryan I’m overcome with sadness and a greater appreciation of who he was as a person.

Ryan was everything I wasn’t - a perfect and beautiful opposite. Ryan was smart at a young age and excelled at everything he did. He was an all-star student with the mind of an engineer, a track athlete, and had the honor and courage of an eagle scout. Ryan’s intelligence was only surpassed by his goofy humor that I had the privilege of witnessing with his sisters Samantha and Rachel.

I looked forward to Ryan’s Instagram posts, it gave me a window into his great personality from 2000 miles away. I could see the fun he had with his friends, his creative videography, and his first love.

As I prepare to fly home and celebrate Ryan’s life I’m reminded of how short our time on this planet can be. Ryan has reminded me to love more, talk more, and be present with those that I hold dear to my heart. He has taught me to never take anything for granted, life is a gift. As I hold Ryan’s reminder close to my heart I promise to always live this gift to the fullest and cherish every moment.

Until we meet again,
Love uncle Ricky

I am so sorry for your loss. I taught Ryan in both sixth and eighth grade. I always enjoyed his unique perspective on life and whatever we were studying. He was one of those special people who is hard to forget. Samantha worked with my son, Bret, seven years ago. I understand.

My deepest sympathies on the heartbreaking loss of your beautiful son! Ryan was 4 years younger than my son, Zach, but Zach always admired Ryan. He talked about what a good kid he was and how smart he was and said if anyone was going to achieve the Eagle rank it would be Ryan! I pray you can find comfort in the happy memories of times spent together...

I wanted Ryan's family to know that their son had a lasting impact on many of his peers. My son, Steven, is 2 years behind Ryan in school and was on math team with him last year. Steven thought very highly of Ryan, calling him "probably one of the greatest minds to come out of that school" as well as saying, "I think the world of Ryan and really looked up to him last year." We are so sorry for your loss and the world's loss with the passing of Ryan.
