Rogelio Diaz

Rogelio Diaz, 58, of Chicago, passed away on December 10, 2018 at his home in Chicago.

He was born April 27, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas to Rogelio and Maria Louisa (Cortez) Diaz.

Rogelio was raised in San Antonio.  He moved to Chicago several years ago to take a job he truly enjoyed. He was a chef with a Chicago restaurant and really enjoyed cooking; which he had developed into a real talent.  He carried a strong sense of family, and would want to be with his family whenever he could.  He had many friends, being a very personable man.  His friends will remember him as being a great Chicago Bears and Chicago Cub fan.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Vela of Crystal Lake; daughter, Leslie Ann Diaz of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Robert Garcia; two sisters, Teriesa Garcia, and Lee Ann (Gerardo) Rodriguez; and his nieces and nephews, Erika Vela, Desire Vela, Adrian Von Duhn, Briana Stepina, and Aaron Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Avenue Woodstock.  A prayer service will take place at 6:00 pm.  Interment services will be private.

Memorials may be made to the family for designation at a later date.
