Robert C. Nocera

Robert C. Nocera, of Woodstock Illinois passed away on January 10, 2018 at the Centegra Hospital in McHenry, Illinois.

Robert was born June 6, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio to Anthony and Victoria (nee Bueno) Nocera.

He was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School in Youngstown.  He received his Bachelors Degree from Youngstown State; a Masters Degree in Spanish from Florida State; and a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Kent State.  Robert was a college Professor, teaching at Kent State for 34 years.  After retirement, his passion for teaching led him to be a substitute teacher for District 200 for over ten years.

 In his younger years, Robert enjoyed tennis, swimming and diving.  Later, he would enjoy traveling through Europe, visiting as many European countries as he could with his long time companion Melissa Cooney.  He was a Board member of the Victorian Village Condo Association; an avid reader; he loved watching sports, especially baseball; and enjoyed his daily crossword puzzle.

Robert is survived by his sons, Eric Nocera of High Point, N.C., and Mark Nocera of Youngstown OH.; nephews, J. Ronald (Leigh Ann) Geyer Jr., Michael A. (Pattie) Geyer; a niece, Tracy L. (Andrew) Bielski; and several grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Antoinette M. Geyer.
