Patricia Lynne Auvenshine passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Centegra Hospital in Huntley, Illinois. She was 75 years of age.

Pat was born December 10, 1942, in Chicago, IL to Herbert and Winifred Clarkson.

Pat loved people! She was always smiling and spent much of her life working in the hospitality industry. Retirement did not slow her down as she was involved with volunteering for many organizations including The Woodstock Ballet Studio, BraveHearts, and the Community Resale Shop. She was a lifelong learner and never afraid of a challenge. Pat enjoyed riding motorcycles, animals, and walking in the woods; but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Randy) McLaughlin; her sons, Jim (Carie) Auvenshine and Brad (Sue) Auvenshine; her grandchildren, Alex and Max Auvenshine, Randy and Sammy McLaughlin; long-time partner Thomas Gillespie, and her dog Lucky.

“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece ... but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting, Whooo doggie!!! What a ride!!!'"

What a fabulous ride Pat had! A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 8, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary, Woodstock. At 6:15 there will be a Time of Remembrance by the family.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to BraveHearts Therapeutic Riding in Harvard, IL.
