Pat Biestek, age 73, loving wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, left us on Friday, March 23, 2018, following a courageous fight with Parkinson’s Disease.
Pat’s exceptional spirit, strong will, intelligence, and compassion for others influenced the many and various activities she undertook throughout her life. A strong believer in learning from mistakes and celebrating successes, Pat exemplified being able to accomplish anything one set her mind to. Family, friends, and doing what was right was important to her. Pat loved gathering with family and friends, spending time by the water, bickering with her husband of 51 years, Rich, and trying out new recipes. She was an avid gin rummy player, enjoyed reading, cross stitch and crocheting, and was always up for traveling, a trip to the movies, or to try out a new restaurant. Pat loved any opportunity to chit-chat with people, made an amazing taco dip, and was incredibly generous with hugs, kisses, and “I love you’s” for her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Pat’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Kelly, Lea, Lisa, Robin, Chaplain Phil, and all the staff at Journey Care Hospice for the exceptional care Pat and the family received. Additionally, the family would like to thank the staff at Pen-Care and Monarch for their complete dedication to Pat’s care and well-being.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Church, Hartland, with a mass to follow at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the JourneyCare Hospice Foundation.
