Nina Ray Obituary

Nina R. Ray, of Woodstock, peacefully passed away at home on November 9, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

Nina was born October 2, 1941 in Corinth, Mississippi, the daughter of Estes and Grace (Latch) McLemore.  She married Jerry L. Ray on December 21, 1958 in Ripley, Tennessee.  They moved to Woodstock in 1970 to raise their family.  Nina was employed by Hartwig Hartoglass for many years, and Zeronine until her retirement in 2015.

She loved spending her time with friends and family, and enjoyed sitting around the table laughing, telling stories, playing games, and doing puzzles.  Her absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with her three grandchildren, Tyler, Jerred and Ali, whom she adored.  The sparkle in her eye shined brighter and her beautiful smile got wider every time she saw them.

She is survived by a son, Michael (Barbie “Gale”) Ray; a daughter, Annette (Tom) Grell; her grandchildren, Tyler Ray, Jerred Grell, and Alexandria Grell; and brothers, Scott, Paul, and Carlos.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in 2013; a daughter, Cindy Ray in 2017; and siblings, Asa, Herschel, Lester, and Ralph.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Avenue Woodstock from 9:00 am until the 11:30 am Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock.
