Kristyne Laura Natschke, age 28, of Woodstock, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018.
She was born April 18, 1990, at Presence Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. That year, she and her family moved from the city to Wonder Lake, where Kristyne developed a love for the outdoors in general and time spent on or near the water in particular.
Kristyne was a bartender at The Cabin in Woodstock as well as a talented artist and musician who shared her wicked wit, broad smile and fierce inner fire with all fortunate enough to be in her midst. Between 2011 and 2016, she devoted herself to helping her mother, Linda Natschke, to laugh, smile and be fearless in the face of cancer.
Kristyne cherished being an aunt, and her siblings’ children adored her playful nature. Aunt Kristyne was never too tired or busy to play with them, or to go paddling or sit lakeside with them watching the sun set, fishing poles dangling nearby.
Kristyne’s many friends will remember her fast-burning spark and her appreciation for kindred spirits — the wild, the boldly empathetic.
Kristyne was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Natschke. She is survived by her father, Karl Natschke Sr., her brothers, Karl (Savannah Thomas) and Michael (Marci Lewandowski) Natschke; her sister, Antoinette (Chance Naber); her nieces, Ava and Dylin Naber and Zoey Natschke; and a nephew, Roan Natschke.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at the Schneider Leucht Merwin Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098. The visitation will continue at the Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 from 10:30 am until the 12:00 noon Funeral Service. Interment at a local cemetery is planned. Friends and family will gather for lunch afterward at Dusty’s Pizza in Wonder Lake.
