Harry T. Johnson of Belvidere died Tuesday August 22, 2017 at Northwoods Care Center in Belvidere.
He was born on October 23, 1936 to William Thomas and Gwendolyn nee Farling Hall. He married Eldora Ruby on August 31, 1963.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving as a carpenter on the USS Oriskany. For over 30 years he worked as a Lineman for ComEd. He was known as a skilled handyman who could do any home projects from wood work to electrical. He always stayed busy but loved to relax with a book especially mystery novels. He was also a history buff.
He is survived by a son, Peter Johnson; 3 daughters, Pamela (Ray) Mazur, Kirsten Johnson, and Jennifer Johnson; a brother, Larry (Ruth) Johnson; a sister, Linnea Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Felina Roark, Tessa Mazur, and Kayla Mazur; 3 great grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Jack, and Taylynn Erdman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and an infant daughter Sarah.
The visitation will be at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock on Tuesday August 29 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
