Dirk Aissen
October 23, 1941 ~ November 3, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years OldDirk Aissen, 76, of Rockton, passed away November 3, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford.
Dirk was born on October 23, 1941 in Elgin to Henry and Dorothy P. (Laufer) Aissen. He married Gloria Limbaugh Harvey on May 16, 1970.
Dirk enjoyed racing his cars in Wilmont, Lake Geneva and many other race tracks. He was track champion in 1963. He was also an avid Trapshooter and won many trophies throughout his life. He also enjoyed working on and driving street rods for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Aissen; his children, Deborah, Terry, Steve, Corina, Brian, Wendy, Heidi, Butch; 31 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jackie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry; a daughter, Colleen; a grandchild, Nickolas; a great grandchild, Travis; and two sisters, Anna Mae, and Dorothy.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home,1211 N Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock.
