Brigid Anna (Verkin) Buzzard

  Brigid Anna Buzzard 32 of Woodstock died Friday October 3, 2014 at University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago.

            She was born in Houston, Texas on December 4, 1981 to William and Joanne (Burke) Verkin. She married Michael Buzzard on January 22, 2011 in Galveston, Texas.

            Brigid lived a very full and brave life while battling MS. She was an active fund raiser for many MS organizations and especially for “Race to Erase MS”. She was a graduate of Clements High School in Sugarland, Texas the class of 2000. She attended class at McHenry County College. She will be remembered for her radiant smile and for having a strong spirit. She was a loving wife and daughter and will be missed by all that knew her.

            She is survived by her husband Michael Buzzard of Woodstock ; her father Billy Verkin of Houston, Texas; a son Madison Buzzard; father and mother in law Bill and Carla Buzzard Jr.; Paternal grandparents Bill and Luanne Buzzard Sr.; maternal grandparents George and Dolores Burke; also numerous Aunts and Uncles and Cousins in both Illinois and Texas.

            She was preceded in death by her mother Joanne; and her grandparents C.G. and Kathryn Verkin Sr.

            The visitation will be held Wednesday October 8, 2014 from 4 until 8 pm at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock. The visitation will continue at St. Mary Church in Woodstock on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 10 am until the 11 am Funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Woodstock.
