Beatrice E. Meyer

Beatrice Edith Meyer, 97, of Woodstock, died Friday March 16, 2018, at Hearthstone Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Forfar, Scotland on March 22, 1920 to Robert and Beatrice (Cox) Byars. She married Roger F. Meyer on December 25, 1944.

She was employed for over 20 years at Oak Industries in Crystal Lake . She also found the time to work many part time jobs including at Centegra Hospital and Doctor Purdy’s Office in Woodstock. She was known as an Artist, sketching many things for family and friends. She loved animals, gardening and sewing. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hearthstone manor and JourneyCare Hospice for the loving care that Beatrice received.

She is survived by a son, David (Linda Rizzo) Meyer, three daughters; Carol (Leonard) Larsen, Linda (Larry) Fay and Judith (Ronald) Habbley; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Judy Landorf) Waller, Astrid (Peter Haulis) Larsen, Laurie (Brian) Smith, David Meyer, Brian Flynn, Jason (Rachel) Habbley, Rebecca (John) Phillips; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister Margaret Ritzman.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 10:00 am until the memorial service at 11:00 am. Rev. David Inglis will preside. Private interment services will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Hearthstone Manor Activity Fund of JourneyCare Hospice.
